Colonel Mustard

For the longest time I refused to have any bright colors in my wardrobe, let alone yellow! As a plus size teenager and young adult I always gravitated towards black, oversized clothes because 1. it was part of my dark aesthetic, and 2. I also truly believed that black was going to make appear slimmer, and therefore more "presentable" and "likable" to others. It's taken me years to realize that's complete BS! I no longer to hide behind dark baggy clothes. I now have a lot of fun trying on all kinds of clothes of various colors that make me feel great. I enjoy trying on new things, and you should too. Don't be afraid to try something on- no matter the size or number! You never know what gems you may find.

My latest favorite color has been mustard yellow. This is from the other day when I wore a pink and white flower dress alongside a yellow shrug. I purchased it from Ross a few years ago and wear it all the time!

Terrifier (2017)

Images and gifs have been circulating all over the internet of this creepy killer clown, so I figured I’d give it a shot! This film is a low-budget slasher film.  The main character of the film is reminiscent of Neve Campbell’s Sidney character in Scream, both in terms of similar physical appearance and character. The characters were all disposable, and the main focus is on Art the killer clown. While lacking plot and intense gore is not my taste, the best part about the film is Art’s random and creepy antics. Art is a mixture between a clown and a mime. His facial expressions can be quite funny, to just down right terrifying. Bird Box (2018)

Bird  Box is an intense apocalyptic horror movie. It is based on the premise of a worldwide invasion of creatures who once seen, will induce its victims into a trance and commit suicide. A real life boggart if you will. Sandra Bullock plays a pregnant survivor, and shows her journey to stay alive along with the various people she encounters. Like A Quiet Place, this film plays on intense situations that allows the survivors to prevail without using one of their keen senses, in this case eyesight. The film has nail biting situations and found it to be well done, but I was left wanting more.  (Spoilers Ahead)  I had hoped for a creature reveal, or more background on the monsters. Were they aliens, or just highly intelligent creatures? Why were some people able to see them with the naked eye? Was there a purpose for this? How was the blind facility able to avoid these people? Overall this was an entertaining movie that could have had more depth in terms of character develop

Wonder Woman Review

Wonder Woman is a film that tells the origin story of how the amazing super heroine came to be. The movie starts with Diana as a child/adolescent at her home on the isolated island utopia Themyscira, inhabited by all-female amazons, and her mother the queen. With the ethereal scenery, battle training sessions, and fantastic characters, I would watch a stand alone Themyscira film! When Diana first sets foot into 1920's England, the first time she's ever been off the island Themyscira, she's introduced to men, war, poverty, and women's suffrage. Her innocence and curiosity of man's world, and it's social constructs, is quite funny. For example, she asks why women would want to keep their bellies hidden by corsets, or why unmarried men and women aren't allowed to sleep in the same vicinity of each other. Her ignorance and innocence of man's world is also eye opening of how violence is ingrained and normalized in our society. Like telling a child for
