The Visit
The Visit is a movie about two children, Becca and Tyler, who go to stay with their maternal grandparents that they have never met before. Before the children were born, their mother had a falling out with her parents because she ran away with a man whom they did not approve. The young girl hopes that meeting her grandparents will reunite their broken family. Once the children arrive, their grandparents start acting strangely. Is their grandparents odd behavior normal of old people? Or is there something really bad going on? This film is a horror comedy, which is definitely difficult to find the perfect balance. I think the movie was pretty successful at that, especially with the help of the goofy brother character. Initially, I didn't think I would like Tyler's character, but he totally grew on me. The last twenty minutes of the film is intense, and like most M. Night Shyamalan movies, had a good turn of events. It's like paranormal activity in that it's ...
